Opening Ceremony and Conference Awards Dinner
Opening Ceremony
The Opening Ceremony will take place on Friday, 3 November at 16:30 in the Auditorium at the conference venue CICAD.
For the Opening Ceremony, there will be a typical Senegalese performance with the Mboup Percussion troupe. It was created in 2009. The creator is a soloist and arranger with the Grand Ballet National du Sénégal. He has travelled all over the world.
Conference Awards Dinner
The Conference Awards Dinner will take place on Sunday, 5 November at Dakar’s Museum of Black Civilizations.
The Museum of Black Civilisations is a modern museum, with a total surface area of 15,000 m² on 4 levels, including almost 5,000 m² of exhibition space, is dedicated to African civilisations. It is a meeting place for civilisation and dialogue between cultures.
It’s a huge circular building planted above the harbour, with architecture inspired by local heritage: a round shape echoing that of traditional huts with, on the top floor, a skylight reminiscent of the impluviums of Casamance housing. It also has a 150-seat auditorium.
