AORTIC 2007 was AORTIC’s sixth international cancer conference and was held in Cape
Town, South Africa from 24-28 October 2007. It was a resounding success, and to paraphrase
Lynette Denny, Secretary Treasurer of AORTIC, "the GHI (General Happiness Index) was high"!
401 participants from more than 40 countries gathered together to listen
to world-renowned speakers, to share experiences with colleagues, to gain advice from experts,
to make contacts and to acquire new stimuli and fresh ideas. AORTIC 2007 was the largest international
cancer event to ever have taken place on the African continent and over 70% of the participants
came from African countries - a truly African event.
