The target audience for AORTIC’s Sixth International Cancer conference is anyone interested in the cancer burden in Africa. At AORTIC’s last conference in 2005, delegates included over 400 physicians, nurses, social workers, researchers, and representatives from various NGOs and international businesses.
The conference seeks to attract a significant African and South African contingent who would most benefit from this conference, but who might be unable to attend because of financial constraints. To assist with the financial obstacle, AORTIC is seeking funding from sponsors to partially or fully fund the transport and accommodation costs of a number of African and clinical care worker delegates. Delegates seeking funding will be encouraged to submit an abstract and those selected by the Scientific Programme Committee will be invited to present it in a Parallel Workshop or Poster session.
