CALL FOR PAPERS

The Organising Committee for the African Organisation for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC) conference in 2007 invites you to participate in the Scientific Programme by submitting abstracts for oral and poster presentations.

The target audience for AORTIC’s Sixth International Cancer Conference is anyone interested in the cancer burden in Africa, including physicians, nurses, social workers, researchers, and representatives of various NGOs and international businesses. Abstracts should therefore be relevant to health care and social issues specific to cancer and cancer control in Africa.

CONFERENCE THEME

AORTIC 2007 will focus on all aspects of cancer care and management: from prevention and diagnoses to treatment and palliation. The conference is titled Cancer in Africa: Challenges and Opportunities and will be held in Cape Town, South Africa from 24th to 28th October 2007.

AORTIC is committed to making cancer control a priority on the health care agendas of Africans. The scientific programme will promote and facilitate an international exchange of research and practical information among practitioners working in cancer care, in Africa and around the world.

CONFERENCE FORMAT

The AORTIC 2007 programme comprises a mix of Plenary, Parallel Workshop, Symposia and Poster sessions. Abstracts accepted will be presented in Parallel Workshops or Poster sessions. While efforts will be made to accommodate author preference in presentation type (oral or poster), the final decision will rest with the Scientific Programme Committee. All accepted abstracts will also be published in the conference handbook and will be available on the conference website.
