Pan African Women’s Association of Surgeons (PAWAS): Coordinating Collaborative Research on the Continent
07:15 – 08:20, Saturday 21 November | Royal Ballroom
Developing a women's health platform for Africa is critical. This is a multi-layered concern which needs to address issues of health awareness, education, early detection and treatment of disease but also needs to consider equity and empowerment of women and to determine what the diverse barriers are, to access to care, in our populations.

As part of these efforts, we have established a pan-African women’s association of surgeons (PAWAS). The mandate of this group is to increase awareness of women's health concerns, be catalysts for change and encourage, mentor and support women in training or working in surgery and related fields & to support existing health initiatives. Join us on Saturday morning to find out more.
