We took our time launching AORTIC 2021 as a virtual conference because we wanted to make sure that we could translate the conference to virtual without losing what makes an AORTIC conference special, asking ourselves important questions such as: “How should we adapt our programme to the virtual platform?” and “How will we serve all of our stakeholders adequately?”. We will certainly miss the in-person interaction, those unexpected “hallway moments” when a conversation leads to a collaboration, and of course the social events!
But we can assure you that everything you expect from the biennial AORTIC conference will still be present: the commitment to rigorously researched scientific content, high quality African and international perspectives, opportunities for emerging research to be presented on a prestigious platform, networking with colleagues to form collaborations, and updates on products and services that are essential to work in cancer in Africa.
In fact, the virtual format will allow us to offer even more expertise and a wider range of perspectives as well as make the conference accessible to more African and international cancer and healthcare professionals from around the world.
Rest assured that our conference team will be with you every step of the way, supporting speakers, sponsors, and attendees alike as we make the shift to virtual.
Watch this space for more information on how the virtual conference platform will work, how to access it, and how to maximise your attendance at AORTIC 2021 Virtual.
